How to enable Google wave on your Google apps account?

Posted by Prashanth On June - 1 - 2010

Few weeks ago Google made wave publicly available, means that everyone who has Gmail account can login to wave! Google had also announced that wave will be open for Google Apps account users. But there was no clue about how to enable it. I myself digged through Google Apps admin interface after that announcement for no luck. But now, you can easily enable Google wave on your Google Apps account.

Just login to Google Apps admin dashboard & click on “Add more services”. You will see something like above screenshot, just click on “Add it now” and you are good to go! Just hit https://wave.google.com/a/YourDomainName in your browser to start using wave with your Google Apps account.

Google added “unfollow” to wave!!

Posted by Prashanth On November - 13 - 2009

unfollow

If you are active on Google wave, very soon your wave inbox get cluttered. To help organize your inbox & to get rid of unwanted waves, Google has added “Unfollow” button. Just click “Unfollow” button to get rid of a wave from inbox. You can still access these waves by searching from the “Search waves”. You might be wondering how different “Unfollow” is different from “Archive”. Well, when a wave is archived, it appears back in inbox whenever there’s something new in it. User will be automatically following a wave if it is sent to you by your friend, basically a private wave. But, if you want a public wave to appear in your inbox, you have to follow it by clicking “Follow” button. To select multiple waves use “Shift” key & you can Archive, Unfollow, Spam, Mark as Read/Unread…etc

Google Wave buddy status is back [That little green dot!]

Posted by Prashanth On October - 19 - 2009

status

On the sandbox account we were able to see status of a buddy with the help of a little green dot. Google pulled this feature off on the Google Wave preview since it caused them some problems. Now, it’s back on the Google Wave preview also!! So now you can know who is online & start waving with them.
