[Robot] Create polls on Google wave using polly!

Posted by Prashanth On October - 26 - 2009

Polly

Polly is quite different from other Robots. Adding polly to a wave creates administrative interface for a poll. Just like creating any other poll add tittle, question & choices to your poll. But, you shouldn’t add participants to this wave, this wave is for administration of wave & preferably only you should have access. Instead of adding users to the wave, you need to add them in “Recipients”  field of the poll separated  by commas. Once done, click on “Distribute Poll” & poll will be sent to all recipients as a new wave. Recipients can alter their choice later. Statistics of the poll will be added to administrative wave.

Polly is a great idea, but it is very quirky and consistently crashes my Wave session:

    1. Never use Tab to move from field to field. Polly doesn’t like this.

    2. The Distribute Poll button doesn’t work until after you’ve closed the blip.

    3. Currently, explain to all your recipients that when they take the poll, it will crash their Wave session, yet their vote will be recorded.

Polly… Please fix yourself. I truly want to offer you a cracker!

I created a poll with polly, but when I closed the window and then came back the poll was gone. Where can I find the poll or the wave that was created?
